Margery Gans, Ed.D

Dr. Margery Gans is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience specializing in the evaluation, assessment, and treatment of individuals involved in the legal system, particularly in cases involving problematic sexual behaviors. She holds an Ed.D. in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard Graduate School of Education and completed forensic training at the Law and Psychiatry Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Prior to studying forensic psychology, Dr. Gans was a therapist, working with individuals, families and couples both in private practice and in a variety of clinical settings.

As a forensic psychologist, Dr. Gans has provided forensic evaluations, including sexual dangerousness, criminal responsibility, and competency assessments, and provided expert witness testimony. She was employed by the Department of Corrections as a member of the Community Access Board (CAB) at the Massachusetts Treatment Center from 1999 to 2006 and continued to work on the CAB as a Qualified Examiner from 2013 to 2024.

Dr. Gans has also maintained a clinical practice as well as a private forensic practice and has taught graduate school and provided clinical supervision. In 2024, she joined New England Forensic Associates as an Associate Clinician, where she continues to provide forensic evaluations and psychotherapy.
